From the ashes of Australia’s Black Summer fires and through the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, Coalition of Everyone (CoE) emerged as a living experiment in collective governance. Over five years, Perigon Studio’s Principal, Willow Berzin, played a central role in shaping it through emergent strategy, creative storytelling, and systems design — helping build a think-and-do tank that reimagined democracy for a world in transition.
Formed as a registered charity and participatory platform, CoE worked at the intersection of democratic renewal, climate justice, and civic imagination. Its purpose: regenerate democracy and democratise regeneration by co-creating decision-making frameworks that include all voices — including Nature and future generations.
CoE’s work included hosting community assemblies, visioning events, and public deliberations across the country, using deep democracy practices to surface collective wisdom. It also co-founded major city-based coalitions like Regen Melbourne and Regen Sydney, and later incubated the Regen Places Network — seeding long-term urban and regional collaborative capacity for place-based transition and resilience.

At its core, CoE was an invitation — to reimagine and redesign systems that hold complexity, prioritising justice and equity, and augment community agency. Today, the initiative is composting into the commons, with an open-source artefact in development for release in 2025 to support future democracy stewards.
